Patrol 48 arrived at Algeria from Sneeuberg, on the 12th December at 18h45. The team started their activity at about 20h30 after a refreshing shower and dinner. The timed activity was started at 23h06 and completed in 10 minutes and 42 seconds. They had a good night’s rest before leaving for Crystal Pool at about 09h30 the next morning. This team displayed a good dose of care for team mate Reuben by escorting him back to the electronics base to be taken care of.
Arrival of our exhausted young men ...
Patrol 48 focusing on Andrew’s introduction to making the electronic compass. The next pictures represent the activities at the drill station which was run by drill master Dipesh. Preparation of the lids require drilling for the LEDs, Switch and Compass Sensor as well as application and marking of the labels.
Assembling and soldering the components like pros...Young Reuben was our first burn patient on the scene. The almost invisible burn fortunately did not need more than a tiny dose of zambuk... Ian would surely remember the phrase ‘Ian, are you alright????’ :) ….
Let the time trial begin... After receiving their prizes, the team posed for a picture for the sponsors, represented by Andre van der Walt of GIBB who is also our base leader.
Sure enough, Ian was ‘alright’...while his fellow team members discussed their route and merrily washed their socks….
Team poster expressing patrol 48’s experience at the electronics base...
Bon Voyage team 48!!! After bidding farewell to the team, Ryan returned Reuben to the electronics base sick bay.
