At 09h45, the E team cheered as Patrol 58, the last team to attend the base, strolled into the electronics base. As Andre broke the sweet news of hot showers, a slab of chocolate each and ice cream to this team, their faces lit up like little Christmas lights, filled with joy. These luxuries supposed to be motivation for the team to arrive early, but the hand-written note that was sent via snail mail did not reach this moving team. :( Before settling down for the base activity, the team relaxed for a little lunch whilst enjoying their ice cold energade. The drill master was relieved of his duties as Frank helped drill all the lids in order to help us catch up on time. Does that make Frank the new Drill Master? Nope … He is the lid master. On completing their compasses, the team huddled to make their poster. Totally drained after the 10 day hike, the poster was unfortunately not completed. Their compass time trial was completed in 7 minutes and 35 seconds. At 14h50, the bus arrived to transport the team back to HQ...
Arrived at Algeria, not as early as expected...
Straight into the activity after a light lunch, before their promised warm showers, ice cream and chocolate...
Assembling and soldering the components like pros…
The compass time trial was run by Sahil...
After receiving their prizes, the team posed for a picture for the sponsors of the base, represented by Andre van der Walt of ARCUS GIBB who is also our base leader. Team poster expressing their experience at the electronics base… I think that this means that they are looking forward to returning home...
Somewhat cleaned up...they left for HQ...having to hike (some in sandals and some barefoot) 500 meters to the bus...
